A breezy 70 degree day filled with brief friendly encounters.
Hiked the first portion of the
Chubb Trail at West Tyson Park, down to the Meramec and looped back around along the river and through the fields. This was probably a five to six mile hike. Unfortunately I forgot all camera-like devices today and hiked it the old school way like I used to 11 years ago. I visited this trail six times between October '99-July'00, and then never again until today.
Saw many hikers, two women on horse back, six bicyclists, four trail runners, and a couple who offered me food as I passed their bench at the top of the hill I was climbing. Smiling and lifting a platter of apples, the man said, "We have Fuji--only the best for our hikers. Enjoy the rest of your trip."
