Fire Road: Lost Valley, February 16th, 2013

Lynn at the Yahn Damn

My sister-in-law Lynn and I went hiking on a cold Saturday morning. It was maybe 26 degrees but sunny. Lewis and Clark was crawling with cars, so I took Lynnie to one of the trails I discovered last Spring when I was working on the geocache field trip.  Once foliage starts to grow, there are too many ticks. Now is the perfect time to find the Yahn Damn, the remains of the Sudbrock House, the old Heck-Roth Cemetery--and then hike out to the Katy Trail along the river for awhile. (And even take a sneak peak through the cut fence to look at the reservoir). Nobody on the fire road. A few joggers and a golden retriever on the Katy Trail. Low river but cheerful day.
